          Serie A Betting

Serie A was once the richest and most dominant league in the world, but it has lagged behind the Premier League and Bundesliga in the last few years. One thing remains certain in Italy: you are either for or against Juventus. For the Old Lady, the slogan “Vincere non è importante, è l'unica cosa che conta” was invented. Literally translated: “winning is not important. It is the only thing that counts.” Calcio (football) is a religion that divides many families into two camps. It is a fascinating league where tactics are sacred and the passionate tifosi make you forget the dilapidated stadiums.

          Serie A in a nutshell

In the 1990s to early 2000s, hundreds of thousands of Italian children heard the fairy tale of the 'sette sorelle'. The seven sisters. Parma, Lazio, Roma, Fiorentina, Juventus, Inter, and AC Milan ruled the boot and took turns winning the Scudetto, the Champions League, Europa League, or the Cup Winners' Cup. During that period, Serie A was by far the strongest football league in the world, with AC Milan as Italy's absolute standard-bearer. European clubs trembled when they faced one of the seven sisters. But in no time, the sisters disappeared from the scene. Parma, Lazio, and Fiorentina went bankrupt and were relegated to lower divisions. Juventus, in turn, was relegated to the second division after the Calciopoli bribery scandal.

Ultimately, the Italian championship lost its appeal and its monopoly on European football. The golden age of Italian football, where Maradona, Marco van Basten, and Lothar Matthäus stole the show, is a distant memory. Since 2010, no Italian team has managed to win the Champions League. But Italian football has completely reinvented itself and no longer wants to be the ugly duckling among the Big Five. With Roberto De Zerbi, Vincenzo Italiano, and the Brazilian-Italian Thiago Motta, Serie A has produced three particularly influential coaches.

          The format of Serie A

For a long time, Serie A was contested with 18 or even 16 clubs. Since the 2004-05 season, the league has consisted of 20 clubs, and like the Premier League and La Liga, that is unlikely to change soon. In February 2024, the clubs overwhelmingly voted against a reduction to 18 clubs.

The twenty clubs meet each other twice a season: once at home and once away. In the event of a tie, the results in the head-to-head matches are the first decisive criteria to distinguish between two or more teams. Then, the number of goals scored in the head-to-head matches and the goal difference over the entire league are considered. If there is still a tie, a playoff match held at a neutral location decides who wins the title, secures a specific European ticket, or gets relegated to Serie B.

Including the cup winner, Serie A is entitled to seven European tickets for the Champions League (4), Europa League (2), and the Conference League (1). The bottom three teams are directly relegated to Serie B.

          Our Serie A betting offer

Bingoal.com is pleased to open the doors of Serie A. Unlike the other four major European leagues, the Italian top tier is unpredictable. After Juventus' nine consecutive titles from 2012 to 2020, no club has managed to win the Scudetto twice in a row. Serie A thrives on city rivalries, and you get the chance to bet on and enjoy the Inter - AC Milan, Juventus - Torino, and AS Roma - Lazio derbies. Via Bingoal.com, you can also bet on matches from emerging clubs like Atalanta, Napoli, and Bologna.

Tips for betting on Serie A

Are you ready to enjoy our Serie A bets? Sign up as soon as possible and dive into the exciting world of football predictions. One thing to remember: in football, the best team doesn’t always take the three points or progress to the next round. Examine the archives of the match you want to bet on. Also, analyze the recent performances of the two teams and the tactics used in the latest matches on football websites. If you do your homework, you have a better chance of making good predictions!

          More than just Serie A

Serie A betting at Bingoal.com is accessible to everyone and also fun to do. You should mainly see it as a way to enhance your football experience. Although we at Bingoal.com are passionate about Italian football, we certainly do not limit ourselves to those bets alone. Bundesliga, Premier League, and La Liga are other foreign leagues we closely follow. Feel free to explore our website and look for the football bets that appeal to you the most.
